Thomas Delord: “In Reims, mobility enhances the Champagne heritage”

Champagne has firmly established itself as an attractive region, where heritage, tourism and business travel constantly intersect.

At the heart of this dynamic, Reims stands out as an essential hub, both a showcase of Champagne’s expertise and a business crossroads between Paris, Brussels and Luxembourg.

Based in this emblematic city, the Chabé Reims office, led by Thomas Delord, aims to anchor luxury mobility within this new era of the region.

Through this interview, Thomas Delord reflects on how the office integrates into the local ecosystem, between tourism, hospitality and business travel.

Reims and Champagne, a region in motion

1. Champagne has become in recent years a highly attractive region. What does it mean for you to lead a private chauffeur office in Reims, at the heart of this living heritage?

interview-thomas-delordIt is true that Champagne has become one of the most sought-after regions in France in recent years, and rightly so. Between exceptional gastronomy, historic heritage and art de vivre, it offers countless treasures to discover.

This attractiveness has been further strengthened by the region’s international recognition, marked by the classification of the Hillsides, Houses and Cellars of Champagne as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose tenth anniversary was celebrated in 2025.

We are proud to act as ambassadors, to represent this generous region and to share its secrets with visitors from all over the world.

Leading the Chabé Reims office in this context implies a particular responsibility: supporting this attractiveness without altering its essence, by offering mobility that matches the standards and expectations of the region.

2. Reims stands as a strategic crossroads between Paris, Brussels and Luxembourg. How does this geographical position influence Chabé Reims’ activity?

Thanks to its proximity to Paris, Champagne has naturally become an accessible destination for short stays, ideal for stepping away from the rhythm of the capital. In less than two hours by road, it is possible to change pace and reach a more serene environment shaped by vineyard landscapes and Champagne heritage.

For the Chabé Reims office, this proximity translates into highly structured journeys requiring precise organisation and perfect time management. We regularly accompany day trips, with pick-ups and returns arranged from Paris, allowing visitors to fully enjoy their experience without logistical constraints.

Champagne is also a natural stopover for travellers from the Benelux region: Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, who include it in their itinerary between northern and southern France. Many choose to pause here to discover the terroir and atmosphere unique to the region. These cross-border flows require strong adaptability from the office to ensure seamless service regardless of origin or duration of stay.

Finally, Champagne’s location at the crossroads of other major wine regions such as Alsace and Burgundy opens up interesting perspectives for wine enthusiasts. These connections allow broader itineraries to be imagined, offering a complementary understanding of French wine cultures and expertise.

Chabé expertise serving the region

3. What types of services are most requested today by your clients in Reims and Champagne?

Each request is approached as a standalone project.

We pay particular attention to listening carefully in order to understand each client’s desires, interests and travel style, and to design truly bespoke experiences.

In this context, wine tourism services occupy a central place among the requests we receive in Reims and Champagne. They take many forms depending on expectations and pace: a sunrise hot-air balloon flight over the vineyards, a singular dinner in the historic cellars of a Champagne House, a private evening in an exceptional estate or a bucolic picnic in the heart of the vines.

The possibilities are vast, and every day we continue to explore the region’s secrets to offer exceptional, exclusive and unforgettable moments.

4. How do you work with local stakeholders (hotels, houses, companies, institutions) to create continuity of service and image across the region?

Before IgoVE joined the Chabé Group, I served for several years as Director of this Champagne-based structure.

This experience enabled me to develop in-depth knowledge of local stakeholders, Champagne Houses, hoteliers, restaurateurs and specialised guides, and to build long-lasting relationships within the region.

Today, to guarantee the Group’s quality of service, we have implemented several concrete action levers:

First, shared software with regional hotels allows us to ensure smooth, reliable and transparent communication, facilitating coordination of bookings, transfers and services for our clients.
In addition, we are regularly invited by Champagne Houses to experience their offerings firsthand. This direct immersion allows us not only to recommend the most authentic and enriching experiences, but also to create a genuine matching between each client and the House that best suits them.
Finally, we work closely with many regional B2B stakeholders, providing transportation for their clients and contributing to the excellence of the welcome Champagne offers its visitors.

Through this approach based on trust, regional knowledge and passion for service, we strive to offer each traveller a unique experience, reflecting the region itself.

5. Beyond partnerships and professional challenges, are there moments experienced with particular clients that illustrate your attachment to Champagne?

It is always difficult to choose a single memorable moment, but some private client journeys resonate particularly strongly with us, especially those linked to engagements or honeymoons.

Accompanying young couples in designing their itinerary, imagining every detail so that the magic happens, and seeing their eyes light up at the end of their stay… that is what truly gives meaning to our profession.

These shared moments of happiness, these sincere emotions, are the greatest rewards for our commitment and passion.
